Rooted in the method of Reformer Pilates, our practice originates from the work of Joseph Pilates, who developed the system in the early 20th century. Originally used to rehabilitate injured soldiers and dancers, Pilates has evolved into one of the most effective movement systems for building strength, improving posture, and enhancing overall wellbeing. Today, both traditional and contemporary Pilates approaches influence our teaching—honouring the original method while incorporating modern understanding of movement and biomechanics.

At the heart of Pilates are six core principles: breath, concentration, control, precision, centering, and flow. These principles guide every movement, encouraging a deeper mind-body connection and a more intentional way of training. Through controlled, low-impact exercises performed on the reformer, the body is strengthened evenly—developing long, lean muscles without strain.

Particular attention is given to the spine, often referred to as the body’s central support system. Reformer Pilates helps to improve spinal alignment, increase mobility, and build the deep stabilising muscles that protect and support it.
